Ted Calvin

Ted Calvin is currently covering Christian and The Duke in Moulin Rouge in Germany. He moved to Germany from New York where he appeared in two Off-Broadway productions and portrayed various roles such as Jeremy in Be More Chill, Warren in This Is Our Youth, Crutchie in Disney’s Newsies, and Moritz in Spring Awakening, in theaters along the east coast. Ted graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA).

Before moving to NYC, Ted was the director/lighting designer for productions of Bang! Bang! You’re Dead! and 21 Chump Street. The latter of the two was a showcase of his own musicality as he wore many hats by music directing, recording special instrumental tracks for the show, and playing piano and drums simultaneously as a one-man pit-orchestra accompanying the performances.

Ted has recently been directing and producing shows and readings, including at the legendary 54 Below cabaret venue.

While not on stage, Ted enjoys building computers, playing video games and working out. He has run multiple NYC half-marathons with a best time of 1:35:42.
