Hi, this is
Ted Calvin

Ted Calvin, born in Germany, moved to the US at the age of seven. Ted is now a bilingual New York City-based performer who  has appeared in two Off-Broadway productions and portrayed various roles such as Jeremy in Be More Chill, Warren in This Is Our Youth, Crutchie in Disney’s Newsies, and Moritz in Spring Awakening, in theaters along the east coast. Ted has a Conservatory Certificate in Musical Theater from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA).

Before moving to NYC, Ted was the director/lighting designer for productions of Bang! Bang! You’re Dead! and 21 Chump Street. The latter of the two was a showcase of his own musicality as he wore many hats by music directing, recording special instrumental tracks for the show, and playing piano and drums simultaneously as a one-man pit-orchestra accompanying the performances.

Ted has recently been directing and producing shows and readings, including at the legendary 54 Below cabaret venue.

While not on stage, Ted is an avid runner, having completed multiple NYC half-marathons with a best time of 1:35:42. He also writes arrangements for a cappella which are occasionally featured on his social media.
